Scattered across the valley slopes, the hamlets of Manigod bear witness to a mountain lifestyle shaped over the centuries by agriculture, livestock farming, and life at high altitude.

These small clusters of traditional dwellings represent a remarkable heritage. Old chalets, granaries, stone water troughs, bread ovens, and chapels tell the story of the families who built and maintained this mountain landscape. To this day, the hamlets remain integral to Manigod’s identity. They offer unspoiled scenery, exceptional views of the Aravis range, and an authentic setting where tradition and modernity coexist harmoniously.
As you explore, take the time to appreciate this rural heritage and respect the peace and quiet of the residents who keep these places alive all year round.

There are 31 of them; here are a few examples:

  • La Charmette
  • Tournance
  • Les Murailles
  • Villard Dessous
  • Montpellaz
  • Le Plan des Berthats
These places serve as the living memory of the valley, helping to pass its history on to future generations.
