Getting to Manigod without a car: services and facilities for cyclists

To encourage sustainable transportation and reduce the environmental impact of tourist travel, Manigod is developing services specifically for cyclists and promoting car-free access.

It is therefore possible to reach Manigod by bicycle via:

  • train from Annecy SNCF train station (carriages equipped for bicycles);
  • bus from Annecy and Thônes (shuttles equipped with bike racks);
  • carpooling;
  • our 3 cycling routes from Annecy!
Croix Fry Cycle
Located in the heart of the Aravis mountain range, Manigod is a prime destination for road cyclists, mountain bikers, and e-bike enthusiasts.
Whether you're on a multi-day tour or a day trip, you'll find facilities at the Col de la Croix Fry specifically designed to facilitate your cycling and enhance your comfort.
The high mountain passes of the Aravis, the marked mountain bike trails, and the services dedicated to cyclists make Manigod an essential stop for exploring the mountains by bike.

How to get to Manigod by bike?

Cycling isn't just for athletes! Consider an e-bike, which opens up endless possibilities: our routes are accessible to casual cyclists thanks to electric bikes. This option reflects the destination's commitment to promoting sustainable mobility. Several options are available:
Take the train and then the bus with your bike, then explore the town and the Aravis region by bike. Alternatively, take the routes established by Annecy Mountains to get you from the shores of Lake Annecy to the mountain peaks.

Cycling route

On a road bike, take route no. 8s, starting in Annecy and heading towards the Col du Marrais (28 km, +820 m elevation gain).
This is a variation of route 8, "Tour de la Tournette," via Serraval. It's a challenging tour of the Tournette mountain range, starting in Annecy via the Col de la Croix Fry and the Col du Marais.

Sporting route

On a gravel bike, take route no. 31 starting in Thônes (78 km, +2,055 m elevation gain).
This is the Route de la Soif (Thirst Route), overlooked by the majestic Mont Charvin, a scenic alpine trail with views of Mont Blanc.

Departmental cycling route

By bike, take route no. 20 from Thônes, the Croix Fry circuit. 11.5 km, 842 m elevation gain.
