Summer must-sees

Presentation

You have put down your suitcases in Manigod and the good weather is here... We have selected for you the essential activities to do in summer in Manigod.
1. The Route des Chapelles

The hamlets of Manigod offer a rich and varied heritage. Take the route des chapelles and discover the picturesque charm of the 6 chapels in the village:
-Villard-Dessous
-Montpellaz
-Plan des Berthas
-Joux
-Tournance
-La Charmette

The Chapels route can be done by car but you can also discover the pedestrian path between the chapels of Joux, Tournance and La Charmette.
The chapels can be reached by road either by car, stopping at each one, or on foot by parking at the beginning of the road and walking along the tarmac road, or by bike. In the summer, the Manigod Tourist Office offers guided tours with a Savoie Mont Blanc heritage guide to take you along the route of the chapels. Explanatory panels recounting the history of these chapels are installed in front of each chapel. A brochure can also be given to you free of charge at the village tourist office.

The route of the chapels is the result of a new joint project, proposed by the neighbouring villages of the valley, as well as the Mairie de Manigod. The route takes you on a journey of discovery of the heritage and history of each of the six chapels in the area.

Did you know that? The chapels date from the baroque period. Their construction was made possible by donations from the inhabitants. The chapels have a protective role: protection against famine, of the inhabitants, of the crops, against natural disasters, but also for certain requests such as good weather or rain.

2. The Nant Burgeat Waterfall

On the way to a forest path you will come across the majestic Nant Burgeat waterfall with its 4 waterfalls. Nestled in a green and rocky environment, the waterfall rushes down the rocks before joining the Fier. Let yourself be lulled by the sound of the water and the natural beauty of this waterfall.

4. Plateau de Beauregard

The weather is fine, the sky is blue and the birds are singing... the conditions are ideal for a walk in the open air. Head for the Beauregard plateau at the Croix Fry pass for a nature break. Put on your hiking boots and venture through the forests, peat bogs and mountain pastures. The breathtaking views of the Aravis mountain range will punctuate your excursion.
On a clear day, you will never tire of seeing the light warmly illuminating the peaks of the Aravis. The sweet smell of the flowering pastures will give a springtime note to your walk. With a little luck, you may even spot chamois, ibex, marmots or black grouse.

The Plateau de Beauregard contains sensitive and protected Natura 2000 areas, so please respect this nature and biodiversity.

Did you know that? The black grouse is a mountain bird. It is also known as the little capercaillie.
