Take a deep breath, head for the hills and discover the unspoilt landscapes of Manigod.

Whether with family, friends or on your own, set off to explore the trails of Manigod. Amidst mountain pastures, fir forests, panoramic views of the Aravis, Lake Charvin and the source of the River Fier, there’s a route to suit everyone’s ability, from a family stroll to a challenging hike.

Don’t wait any longer – set off to explore unspoilt nature and spot mountain wildlife, whether on your own, with family, with friends or accompanied by a guide!
The mountain pastures are an integral part of Manigod’s identity.
With its 19 farms still in operation, the village keeps a vibrant pastoral tradition alive.
Whilst hiking, you’ll be passing through working pastures: please respect the farmers’ work, the peace and quiet of the herds, and these sensitive natural areas.

Good hiking etiquette

A few simple steps help to preserve the landscape and ensure we can all enjoy the mountains peacefully alongside farmers, animals and other hikers.

  • Stay on the marked trails.
  • Respect the mountain pastures and herds.
  • Pick up your rubbish.
  • Be vigilant in the presence of guard dogs (Patous).
  • Check the map showing where Patous are present before you set off (it allows you to locate the herding dogs in real time).

At their own pace, the pedestrian walks offer magnificent panoramas.
