Presentation
The Manigod Tourist Office invites you to discover the organ of its Saint-Pierre Church!
Exceptional to the eye, the Manigod organ is equally exceptional to the ear.
Its strong personality and secret sonorities are unrivalled in the region. A number of concerts will be held in the church this summer featuring our magnificent organ, accompanied by other instruments:
30 July: Organ and vocal concert
featuring Pergolesi’s *Stabat Mater*
Laurent Carle, Anne-Sophie Durand and Marie-Hélène Ruscher
Anne-Sophie DURAND, soprano
Trained as a pianist, Anne-Sophie DURAND turned to singing later in life, driven by a desire to link music with the meaning of words.
She trained at the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles and immediately went on to join some of France’s leading ensembles: Le Concert Spirituel, Le Parlement de Musique, Jacques Moderne and Les Éléments, which gave her the opportunity to sing under the baton of Michel Plasson, Louis Langrée, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Hervé Niquet, Christophe Rousset and Jérémie Rohrer … with whom she has recorded numerous albums.
She continued her solo career under the direction of Christophe Coin, Martin Gester and Hervé Niquet. She sang in the dialogue of Francis Poulenc’s *Les Carmélites* on stage at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, directed by Olivier Py.
At the same time, Anne-Sophie DURAND is passionate about teaching. She has held a State Diploma (DE) in singing since 2020 and has been teaching at the Annecy Regional Conservatoire (CRR) since 2023.
Marie-Hélène RUSCHER, mezzo-soprano
Originally from Chambéry, Marie-Hélène RUSCHER undertook her musical studies (piano, cello, chamber music, singing) at the Conservatoire in that city, studying singing in particular with Nadine Sautereau, before moving on to the Geneva Conservatoire, where she studied under Eric Tappy and later Maria Diaconu. She went on to further her training with Margreet Honig in Amsterdam and Cécile de Boever in Lyon.
She has performed with Bernard Têtu and the Solistes de Lyon, as well as with Michel Corboz, Guillaume Tournière and Daniel Reuss, and the Lausanne Vocal Ensemble, both as a chorister and a soloist. She performs with various ensembles in France and Switzerland.
Drawn to different styles and genres, she has taken part in several projects as both a singer and an actress. For several years she has been performing the Brazilian repertoire alongside Christian Aschehoug (guitar), and was able to train in Rio de Janeiro as part of this.
Holder of a state diploma and a certificate of competence as a singing teacher, she currently teaches at the CRR in Chambéry Pays de Savoie.
Laurent CARLE, organ
Laurent CARLE is an organist, composer, improviser, classical and jazz pianist, and teacher. In 1996, he was awarded a special prize at the 10th International Bach Competition in Leipzig (Germany). As an organist, he performs across Europe, where he frequently plays his own works in concert.
His CD featuring the complete Trio Sonatas by J.S. Bach, recorded on the Thomas organ at Saint-Pierre-d’Albigny (Savoie), was released on the Claviorganum label.
Since September 2021, he has been giving private organ and piano lessons. He is the teacher in charge of the organ class at Saint-Pierre-d’Albigny. In 2025, he will be a guest lecturer at the ASSOLA workshop in Savoie.
He was co-titular organist at Tarbes Cathedral and is currently the organ curator at Saint Swithun’s Church in Aix-les-Bains.
He launched his ‘Orgue in Jazz’ concept, adapting famous pieces from the jazz repertoire for the organ, thereby bringing a fresh perspective to organ concert programmes.
A certified practitioner of sonology (sound massage), he offers his treatments in Chindrieux (Savoie).

Our concert centres on Pergolesi’s famous *Stabat Mater*, which we are performing in a version for two voices and organ.
We frame this with Italian sacred music from various periods, selected for its radiance and fervour.
In Italy, the sacred is not synonymous with austerity. One need only step inside St Peter’s Basilica in Rome or Florence Cathedral to be struck by the radiance of these great centres of culture and the sacred.
Italian music shares these same characteristics: radiance, depth and expressiveness. It is at once sensual and spiritual, communicative, and closely linked to the world of opera. Liveliness does not preclude depth.
We are delighted to share with you some well-known pieces alongside others that are far less familiar, inviting you to join us for this moment of meditation and beautiful music.
