Presentation

The Manigod Tourist Office invites you to discover the organ of its Saint-Pierre Church!
Exceptional to the eye, the Manigod organ is equally exceptional to the ear.
Its strong personality and secret sonorities are unrivalled in the region. A number of concerts will be held in the church this summer featuring our magnificent organ, accompanied by other instruments:

July 31: Organ and Violin Concert by
Emmanuel Arakelian and Hugo Gianotti

Ugo Gianotti began by studying modern violin before specialising in early music and baroque violin. He trained with Frédéric Martin in Dijon, then with Marie Rouquié at the Pôle Supérieur de Poitiers, and in 2019 will join the CNSMD de Lyon in Odile Edouard's class.

He benefits from the advice of renowned musicians such as Enrico Gatti, Chiara Banchini, Sophie Gent, Florence Malgoire, François Fernandez, Guillaume Rebinguet-Sudre and Leïla Schayegh.

He performs with a number of prestigious ensembles, including Pygmalion, the Ensemble Baroque de Nice, Masques, Les Nouveaux Caractères and Il Convito, and is concertmaster of Les Argonautes, with whom he recorded Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (Aparté label, 2021) and a forthcoming Dixit Dominus by Handel and Lotti.

At the same time, he is studying ancient bowing with Nelly Poidevin, Craig Ryder and Jean-Yves Tanguy.

Born in Avignon, France, Emmanuel Arakélian has had a passion for ancient and modern keyboards since childhood. He trained at the Toulon Conservatoire and then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he studied organ, harpsichord, continuo and chamber music with Pascal Marsault, Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard, Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou.

A prizewinner in international competitions, he enjoys an active career as a soloist, continuo player and chamber musician, performing in France, Europe, the United States and Canada.

He is titular of the historic great organ of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume (built by Jean-Esprit Isnard between 1772 and 1774), and is responsible for its artistic development. In this capacity, he founded the ‘Harmonies d'orgue’ festival and relaunched the Saint-Maximin academy, which he directs.

Highly committed to teaching, he holds the Certificat d'Aptitude and has been teaching organ at the CRR de Marseille since 2019.

His first CD, devoted to Louis Marchand, for organ and harpsichord, was released by Mirare.
