Presentation
The Manigod Tourist Office invites you to discover the organ of its Saint-Pierre Church!
Exceptional to the eye, the Manigod organ is equally exceptional to the ear.
Its strong personality and secret sonorities are unrivalled in the region. A number of concerts will be held in the church this summer featuring our magnificent organ, accompanied by other instruments:
20 August: Organ duo
by Stéphane and Antoine Eliot
Stéphane Eliot
Principal Organist at the Basilica-Cathedral of Nice, Stéphane Eliot was awarded gold medals in both organ and improvisation whilst studying at the conservatoires of Marseille and Paris. He furthered his training by working with Olivier Vernet at the Monaco Music Academy. In 1994, he was crowned world runner-up at the ‘International Electone Festival’ in Tokyo. His passion for the operatic repertoire has led him to accompany leading international artists on his Symphonic organ, notably Elizabeth Vidal and André Cognet in programmes such as ‘From Bach to the Beatles’ and ‘The Silk Road’, amongst others. He plays an active role in the cultural life of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region and is a regular guest at major musical events. The Nice Opera Philharmonic Orchestra also invited him to play the grand organ at the Church of Saint Pierre d’Arène – where he served as organist for 18 years – for Duruflé’s Requiem with the Opera Choir. Over the years, he has specialised in film music and tours with his programme ‘Film Music on the Grand Organ’, which has enjoyed great success with audiences for several years now. He also performs ‘Classical Organ Recitals’ featuring consistently varied programmes, interpreting the works of the greatest composers with his own unique musical sensibility and mastery of the instrument.
Antoine Eliot
A promising young organist, born in 2004 in Nice, Antoine Eliot is the choirmaster at Nice Cathedral. His passion for the organ dates back to 2016, when he attended a concert given by his father, Stéphane Eliot, who is also an organist. In 2017, Antoine took his first steps in learning the organ by joining Olivier Vernet’s class at the Pierre Cochereau National Conservatoire in Nice. Whilst immersing himself in the great works of the organ repertoire, he also devoted himself to improvisation, a field in which he particularly excels. Over the years, he has performed in numerous concerts, notably as part of the ‘Prodiges’ programmes organised by Elizabeth Vidal and in duets with his father, Stéphane Eliot, allowing them to engage in improvisations and four-hand pieces. At the same time, he has taken part in numerous solo concerts and further honed his mastery of improvisation. Today, Antoine Eliot is organist at Sainte-Réparate Cathedral in Nice, where he continues to explore and deepen his art, combining technical mastery with creativity whilst pursuing university studies in orchestral conducting and teaching. In September 2025, he was appointed Choirmaster of Sainte-Réparate Cathedral, with responsibility for the cathedral choir.
