Concert d'orgue - 13 août
ManigodLocation : Eglise Saint-Pierre
Presentation
The Manigod Tourist Office invites you to discover the organ of its Saint-Pierre Church!
Exceptional to the eye, the Manigod organ is equally exceptional to the ear.
Its strong personality and secret sonorities are unrivalled in the region. A number of concerts will be held in the church this summer featuring our magnificent organ, accompanied by other instruments:
13 August: Organ and flute concert
by Francis and Marie-Pierre Auclair
Marie-Pierre AUCLAIR is a graduate of the Strasbourg National Conservatoire, where she was awarded several medals in flute, chamber music and music history. She holds a state-recognised teaching qualification in the flute and has also worked as a primary school teacher; she continues to lead her school choir, thereby helping to spread her passion for music far and wide. For many years, she has been giving concerts with various ensembles, most notably with her husband, Francis AUCLAIR, an organist.
Francis AUCLAIR is also a graduate of the Strasbourg National Conservatoire, where he was awarded several first-class medals (in Pierre Vidal’s organ classes and René Schmitt’s music analysis classes). He also holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy (under Paul Ricoeur) and a PhD in Musicology (under Marc Honegger). He is the founder of the Centre for Hermeneutics and Bach Music Research in Alsace (and, in this capacity, contributed to the *Dictionnaire de la musique vocale* published by Bordas). He has given numerous concerts as an organist alongside his wife, a flautist, and also as musical director of the ensembles *Bach d’Alsace* and *Lazare de Schwendi*.
They have performed on several recordings, some of which can be found on YouTube.
Programme:
Georg Philipp Telemann – Cantabile & allegro (excerpt from the Sonata in G major)
Nicolaus Bruhns – Prelude and Fugue in G minor
