Presentation
Les Gaz'Ailes" paragliding club at Le Lac is organising the 2024 edition of the "Bornes to Fly" event on May 8 and 9, 2025, the first organised Walk and Fly World Cup.
The Bornes To Fly is a friendly race combining paragliding and walking, in the tradition of the famous X-Alps.
It's the first Walk and Fly World Cup to be organized, a competition validated by the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale). It will mark the start of a worldwide circuit. Pilots will compete over a three-day course, punctuated by two bivouacs in the wilderness. The route, ranging from 100 to 250 kilometers, will be chosen by the Event Director to suit the weather conditions. To be considered as passed, the beacons must be crossed, by flight or on foot, within a radius defined at the briefing. The list of beacons to be passed will be given by the Event Director at the pilot briefing.
